Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Fay! Fay has been in foster care with Paws for Life since October 2016. But don't let those months fool you, she is just now going up for adoption. When she was rescued from the local shelter she had the worst case of demodectic mange her foster mom had ever seen. She had lost nearly all of her hair and her skin was infected and itchy. With lots of love and care she is once again the dog she should be, happy and healthy. Her skin no longer itches and she thrives on the attention of her foster family. Fay is estimated at 10 years old but don't think that she is going to be a complete couch potato. Fay is approximately 50-55lbs and the ... (Read More)vet's best guess on her breed was a husky/border collie mix. Ms Fay loves to go out in the fenced in yard with all of her foster brothers and sisters. While she may not be as athletic as the younger pooches, she will still play 'chase the husky' around the yard for a while. Once she is all worn out, she is known to bark at the back door to let her foster family know that she wants back inside to snuggle and get love. This sweet older lady is house and crate trained. She knows the command 'sit' but is easily distracted so she does not always perform on command. Fay is very food motivated and really enjoys her breakfast and dinner. She is currently fed in her crate because she exhibited some very minor food aggression when she was first rescued. However, now she can eat in her crate with the door open and other dogs milling around and not have any issues at all. Fay also is very cat friendly. She ignores them when they run by her and tolerates it when the kittens rub up against her. There are also 4 small children in her foster home and she is fabulous with all of them (ages newborn-5yrs). Occasionally, she will bump into one of the children but it is purely accidental. Fay is all up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. The mange that she had was treated with Bravecto which is a flea/tick prevention, and it is highly recommended that she remain on this for the rest of her life (unless advised by a vet) to prevent any relapse. Fay is looking for her forever home to live out her life and if you think that could be you please apply at http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/dog-adoptions/ her adoption fee is $225. If you have any questions about Fay, you can contact her foster at jessica@pawsforlifenc.org (Less)

Nakita ~Sponsored~ Reduced Fee~'s Story... Hi my name is Nakita and I am a 2 year old Boston Terrier and Petite Pit Bull Mix. I am a wonderful size weighing in at 40 pounds! I am as sweet as can be and I love everyone! At my foster home I have a large foster brother who is my best friend! We play together all the time and we even share food! My foster dad says we act like an old married couple but I always tell him that I am too young to get married! I need to be an only dog or to go to a home with a male dog. One time a dominant female attacked me and I still have bad dreams about it. I tried to go to a home with a really sweet female lab ... (Read More)but her large size intimidated me and it didn't work out. I adore children and would love to go to a home with an active family! Sometimes on the weekends I go stay with my foster dad's friends family and their little girl paints my toenails! I feel so beautiful when I get back to my foster home! I love to go for walks but could use a little work on my leash manners. It would be great to to go a home with a fenced in back yard so I could run freely and play fetch! I must go to a home that has no cats. I get over excited when I see them and I try to chase them. I am up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, heart-worm negative and current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention. My adoption fee is $150.     Hi, How are you? I'm Buck. I am a 6-8 year old, 45lb, bulldog mix with the cutest under bite and wrinkles all over my face and down my neck. I am in my senior years. So slow and steady is my pace. I would enjoy the laid back lifestyle. I am not a high energy dog at all. I am cat, kid, and dog friendly. I don't have a mean bone in my body. My previous family surrendered me because they were doing an unexpected move and said they couldn't take me. Once my foster mom saw I needed help, she jumped at the chance to come get me. I am house trained and crate trained. Even though I am such a good boy I don't need to be crated when left alone. I ... (Read More)was not used to human love and attention. But now that I get it all the time I love it and ask for it. I am a very low maintenance dog. All I want is to be your buddy and live out my senior years at your side. When I attach to you I will follow you everywhere and be wherever you are. I am very loyal. I also walk great on the leash. I am not a fan of getting into cars. But once I am in the car, with the door closed, and the car is moving I will lay down and take an old man nap. I am well loved and sponsored. ** SPONSORED** Reduced Adoption Fee $175 I am fixed, microchipped, heartworm negative, UTD on all my shots, flea, tick, and heartworm medicine.     Hi there! My name is Duncan. I'm currently single and looking for my forever family. I heard that putting a profile online is a good way to meet the 'right one' so here I go! I'm a 1 year old Lab/Border Collie Mix. My foster mommy says that if I was one of the 7 dwarfs it would be 'Happy' with a little bit of 'Dopey' mixed in and that my theme song should be 'Don't worry, be happy'. That's because she says I've never met a stranger be it dog, cat or people and my tail is constantly going! She says I love everyone and its true...well except for those people that let me end up at the shelter. I know! Can you imagine me in a shelter?? So a ... (Read More)little bit more about me: I weigh 60 pounds right now and have some big ol' feet to grow into so I'll be a good size dog when I grow up. Probably around 60-70 pounds is my foster mommy's guess. I walk really well on a leash and am learning to potty only outside but haven't quite gotten the hang of that yet. I know 'sit' and am crate trained. I may cry for a minute or two but that's just to see if you'll give in and let me out. My foster mommy says don't fall for it...oops! I shouldn't have told you that! I love to play with toys of all kinds like Kongs, tennis balls, squeaky toys...bring it on! I also have a ton of fun playing with my lab foster brother and sister. I even like to hang with the cats sometimes. I'm still a puppy and a bit mouthy since I'm in the middle of teething, so even though I really like kids, I should probably go to a home with older kids. I also have a lot of energy, so if you're an active person I'd be a great companion for long walks and maybe when I'm older we could try some running. You just need to let my bones develop first. I'm neutered, microchipped and up to date on all my shots. So that means I'm ready to go!! Are you looking for a SUPER CUTE very loving fellow to fill in that whole in your life? Well here I am. You just need to put in an application. You can go to fchsnc.org and just put my name down. My adoption fee is $225 and I'm worth every penny and them some! Tail wags and puppy kisses! Duncan (Less)

I am purebred. Duke's Story... Duke is a well behaved 9 years old. He is house and crate trained. He loves treats and especially peanut butter! He sleeps in his crate all night and sometimes takes naps in it during the day. He also likes to lay in the sun. He walks well on the leash. He's not too adventurous outside of the home. He likes being around people. He did not get a lot of cuddling or love from his previous home but is getting use to it fast! He talks a lot and lets you know when he's not happy! Duke doesn't like anyone messing with his face. Sudden movements and reaching for him in the front are not advisable. He would do great ... Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

*Male *9 years old approximately *Australian Shepherd mix *62lbs *Crate and house trained *Good with older kids (5+) *Good with other dogs (males, females, larger, smaller, etc) *Good with cats Hi there! Don't let my age fool you, at roughly 9 years old I still have some get up and go in these bones of mine! I love to go out in the back yard at my foster mom's house and run around with the other dogs. I also love to chase a ball! Foster mom says it is hilarious when we try to play fetch because I will pick it up, carry it a ways, drop it and start barking at the ball like it is supposed to move on it's own. I really don't know what ... (Read More)I am expecting it to do but it is fun and it makes mama laugh! After a good play in the yard I am happy to come inside and rest on my dog bed in a quiet corner though or snuggle up for some ear rubs. OKay, well I would prefer the ear rubs if you are willing to give them! I can't get enough really. I probably did not have a lot of love in my life prior to being rescued so now it is all I want. You see, I managed to find myself in the county shelter all matted up and in pretty rough shape. I had some nasty wounds on my rear end that had gotten infected from lack of care and was really sensitive about being touched on my head from the pain caused by double ear infections that were very bad too. But now I am all groomed up and healthy! Mama got my coat shaved down so that it could all grow in evenly since the shelter had shaved the back half of me to help my skin heal. I loved being bathed, it was such a relaxing experience and I just soaked up the attention. My ideal home would be somewhere pretty low key where I can get lots of attention in my golden years. While I am not a fan of 10 mile hikes, I would enjoy a good walk or two a day or some time playing ball in the yard. I am actually pretty good on the leash if you use an Easy Walk Harness on me. I don't mind hanging out in my crate when foster mama isn't home. I actually choose to sleep in there a lot of the time because I want to be close to my family, but the family includes some noisy little kiddos that sometimes forget that I am an older man. I have found I can slip off into the crate and they are likely to leave me alone. I am perfectly fine with them though, I just don't always like the wild and crazy energy that very young children bring. I will be neutered and microchipped soon, and am up to date on my vaccinations, have been dewormed, am heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. My adoption fee is $225. Adoption applications can be filled out at www.fchsnc.org/adoptable-dogs. If you have any questions about me that this bio doesn't answer, foster mama would be more than happy to answer them for you at jessica@pawsforlifenc.org. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buddy is a typical goofy Labrador Retriever mix. He is a beautiful pure white with sweet eyes and floppy ears. He loves to give kisses and he is a leaner! Buddy has great Lab energy; loves to play and run around. He would make an excellent hiking, running or walking companion (does pull, however is getting better) He is a very happy-go-lucky, sweet boy who is extremely affectionate and his tail never stops wagging. Buddy is a solid boy and weighs about 68 pounds, he is athletic and agile, plays hard and sleeps hard. When he is not having fun on a run or in the backyard, his favorite place is right by your side on the couch, usually head in ... (Read More)lap or his full body on your lap; one of your bigger lap-dogs! Buddy knows SIT, NO and listens very well, he could benefit from some training classes and some leash manners so that he reduces his puling. He is a very smart boy and will follow your lead. Sweet Buddy first came to us as a rescue, our first foster in fact, about a year and a half ago, we loved him right away. He lived with us for about 3 months. As luck would have it he found a great 'Dad' who provided him a loving home and plenty of exercise. He even got to go to work with him and LOVES to ride in the car, although he is partial to a truck (he likes to be up high). He is an excellent co-pilot, probably the best dog passenger I have ever had. Just let him kick back and listen to some tunes next to his favorite person and he is in his glory. Sadly, Buddy's Dad was called into military service and he had to give up his best 'Bud', friend and companion; he was devastated! The person who was scheduled to care for him was unable to do it at the last minute. Buddy lived in an apartment for the last year and a half, got out regularly to run (he can go at least 3 miles easily) and walk and spent a lot of time 'working' on the road with this Dad. He would do well in a home with a backyard, but would also do well in an apartment provided he gets enough exercise. He would be best as an only dog, so that you could focus on his training and exercise, he also has some food aggression, but all of our dogs are fed separately. It is always suggested to feed dogs separately anyway to alleviate any chance of resource guarding. He is an Alpha so would need a strong pack leader to show him the way. He is not a fan of cats or squirrels, and will chase them, due to his prey drive. But he is an incredible mush with people and makes a great lap warmer! He loves children, but would suggest kids 8 or older as he is a strong boy and could accidently knock over a younger child. Buddy currently lives with a 12 year old and spends a good deal of time with a 10 and 13 year old. He is a wonderful 3 %BD year old boy, who is up to date on all vaccines, neutered on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. His adoption has been sponsored, so to have this wonderful companion would only be a $100 adoption fee. As mentioned, he is a sweet and affectionate, high energy boy who would love nothing more than to go for a hike or a long walk and cuddle on the couch with you. Are you ready for a new lap warmer? It's getting chilly! For more information contact his foster at lauraxpedersen@gmail.com (Less)

Since I've had Bruce I've learned that he is a happy boy and loves being around people and other dogs. He has not had any accidents in the house and has learned to eat and sleep in a crate. (Food is a great motivator for most dog and makes it easier to crate train them.) Bruce had rotten and assessed teeth which were removed. He has no teeth, but don't worry, he still can eat dry food and prefers dry over canned even when his teeth were still in tact. He's a really sweet and gentle dog that would make a great pet for anyone. He is active and loves to run and play with my hound dog. Please fill out an application at ...     Reba came to FCHS as 'Irish' from the shelter. She was saved on her death date. Reba is a beautiful female coonhound who moves perfectly. She has come a long way in foster care. Initially, she was frightened of men and very scared and skiddish. She still is scared of loud, sudden noises and gets squirmish on the leash when cars drive by. These are her only setbacks. Everything else about this female hound is perfect. She's loving, patient, kind. She's great with other dogs and children/babies. She is not a loud hound, she barely barks and we have never heard her howl. She loves to eat! She gets very excited in the morning before chow ... (Read More)time. She also loves it when you grab the leash and she knows she's going for a run. She's crate trained, dog door trained, and house trained. She will even bark to wake you up in the night if she needs to be let out. She's such a lady that she even goes number two in the same place in the yard, every time. This precious gal would be great with another dog or as an only dog. I see her with a family - willing to love her and spoil her. She's great on the leash and is an excellent runner. She would make a great running companion for someone. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-08-00065Alex (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Alex is a great guy! This handsome boy is happy and super affectionate. He always wants to be near his people unless he is playing with his toys. He is a nice medium size. He was rescued from the shelter at the end of September. Age: 1 yr old Weight: 45 lbs Breed: Our guess is Boxer / Pit Mix Demeanor: Alex is a confident and loving guy, who still has some puppy qualities. He has plenty of energy for playing, but he also enjoys his down-time. He is great with other dogs. He seems to be a natural leader and does not take the bait when other dogs are not as nice as he is. He craves petting and has not yet learned to wait his turn when ... (Read More)others are getting attention .... but we are working on that. He loves all people - both adults and children. Likes: Alex likes being petted, getting treats, playing with toys or other dogs, and stuffed animals that he can pull the stuffing out of. He is absolutely adorable when running around outside tossing his toys and amusing himself. Manners: Alex was a stray and it doesn't appear that he lived in a house and learned the things that beloved pets need to know. However, he is very intelligent and is learning quickly. He learned how to sit and use a doggie door the first day he was in his foster home. And as he is very treat motivated, it will help him to learn other things. Riding in cars was not familiar to him at first, but now he enjoys it and is a nice calm rider. He didn't know that he shouldn't use the bathroom in the house at first, but he is getting it now. If the doggie door is open for him, he will always go out to relieve himself, but if not, he needs to learn to hold it. We are working on leash training .... he is a strong boy, and sometimes it takes some convincing for him to come along. He doesn't mind being crated, but he cries when he is left alone and is quite excited when you get back home. And, he needs to learn to tell the difference between his toys and the things that are not to be played with ... he is still doing some puppy chewing. Alex is such a good natured dog who will be motivated to learn to make his people happy. Other: He doesn't mind being crated, but he cries when he is left alone and is quite excited when you get back home. He is too exuberant to be crated for long periods of time. In his forever home, if his family is gone most of the day, having another dog would be best for him. Fenced Yard Required: Yes. Alex enjoys running laps and will amuse himself by playing with toys in the yard. Alex has not been cat tested, but it can be arranged. He is up to date on his shots, neutered and microchipped. Email his foster mom at nnorris649@gmail.com with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking at rescue dogs! Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Well hello there! What's your name? Are you looking for a sort of tall, sort of dark and definitely handsome boy? If so, I may be the one for you! My name is Ash and I am a dashing and debonair Lab/Husky mix. I don't like to brag ... really I don't ... but I happen have the softest double-coated hair that is so easy to run your fingers through. You should try it sometime! At 1 year of age, I'm proud to say my active lifestyle keeps me at a fit 40 lbs and looking good for the ladies. Despite my recent shelter experience, I am an optimist. I believe in living life to the fullest. I am a fun-loving, playful guy who likes to be the life of the ... (Read More)party. I don't think there is a dog I don't like, but I may come on a little too strong for some. I know I would NOT do well in a home with no other doggies to play with. Other dogs make me comfortable and confident. Let's talk about cats, though? What is the big fascination with them? Now, I won't lie ... I've sniffed a few ... but I was less than impressed. They are tolerable but, truthfully, I think they are snobbish and downright mean! Who needs that kind of negativity? I prefer to find kinder friends. Now, if cats run, they're giving me a clear signal they want me to play chase. Who am I to deny them their fun? Now, I LOVE my family, especially my foster mom. She recognized right away that I was not used to being indoors. Instead of judging, she's helping me overcome my fear of doors/entryways. I'm also not comfortable walking on hardwood floors yet, but I'm getting better every day! One of the greatest joys I had so far was sleeping on a big, comfy couch. Now, that's a dog's life right there! I took my 12-year- old human foster sister for a walk the other day. Mom said I didn't too badly, but I'm big and strong and I need to stop pulling so much. She said we'll work on it. I did GREAT learning the 'sit' command in just 1 day, though. Mom praised me A LOT and that made me feel really good on the inside. Now I can sit and get treats right alongside my doggie foster sisters. Those girls are crazy, but I have the BEST time playing chase and wrestling with them in the yard. I think they're crushing on me too ... but who wouldn't? I don't like to brag ... really I don't ... but I have not had one accident in the house. Isn't that great? My mom says it is, so it must be true, because I trust her so much. I don't have accidents in my crate either, even though I don't like being in it. Sometimes I'll go in my crate on my own if you bribe me with a treat, but usually you'll need to nudge me. Then I will try my best to make you feel guilty for putting me in there. I eventually settle down but ... not bragging or anything ... I put on a good show first. My mom and dad get a little upset with me at bedtime with this behavior, but mom said we'll work on this too! It is important to give me lots of playmates and/or lots of toys. Otherwise, I get easily bored. Then I have to find my own fun. I call it fun, but mom calls it mischief. Mom doesn't like it when I do mischief with her shoes or pillows. Despite that, Mom tells me that I'm a good boy because I'm very sensitive and it's easy to re-direct my behavior. She says I need a gentle touch because she can tell someone treated me badly. Why? Sometimes I flinch when she's reaching out to pet me or I crouch on the floor if I think she is upset. I will be neutered and micro-chipped on 13 June, and I am up-to- date on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative. If you would like more info about me, please contact my foster mom at fchscarla@gmail.com. My adoption fee is $225. Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Serena's Story... Hi! My name is Serena and I am a beautiful one year old brindle hound mix. I am a 50 lb female and already spayed and up-to-date on my vaccinations, heart worm preventative and flea/tick medication. I am a moderate-energy dog who loves to go on long walks with my mom and wrestle with my dog siblings. My perfect forever home would be an active family who loves to go on walks and play with me, or maybe even have a fenced in yard. My mom says I have excellent leash manners, except when I see something that looks like fun to chase. Since I am part hound, I love to track and chase small animals, like cats, bunnies and ... (Read More)butterflies! I love to play with other dogs, although sometimes I get a little shy and need some extra time to warm up to new friends. I'm a really great wrestler and can hold my own with the big dogs! I really love playing with my other dog friends. I'm not so sure about cats though. If they like to run, I like to chase them. However, if they ignore me, swat me or just stay still, I will leave them alone. If my forever home has cats, I will need an experienced owner to properly introduce me and keep an eye on me. I am also okay with children. My foster family has a toddler and I tolerate her pretty well. She likes to give me hugs and kisses and I am happy to return the favor. She also likes to drop food for me to eat, so that really makes me like her! My mom says I am doing great with my crate and potty training (I haven't had any accidents in the house since I figured out the whole concept). I love to hang out in my crate with new toys when my family has to leave for a little while. I feel safe in there and would like a family who will continue this training with me. I am still getting used to being a house dog after my former life on the street and I like it a lot so far. I will even relax now and sleep on my bed or hang out chewing bones while my family watches TV. However, I am still learning the difference between my toys and theirs, so I'm best left in a crate while unsupervised. My mom says that I am super smart and easily trainable, whatever that means. I am a quiet dog, only barking when there is someone I don't know coming to the door. I also love to chew and have very strong jaws, so my perfect family would be able to provide me with lots of chew toys and bones to play with. I hope you will consider adding me to your family! Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shasta is a beautiful, 1 yr. old, red pitty mix. I was asked to go to the shelter as they were getting over crowded and would begin putting dogs down soon. It was my first time going there personally and a sad experience for sure. As I walked the rows of cages I was struck by the friendly smiling face of this sweet girl and when a more experienced rescuer recommended her I jumped for the chance. She is around 45 lbs. Spayed, heartworm free and a charmer. She is a family dog here and in love with my 5 and 10 yr old girls. She wants to be a lap dog or at the very least a couch snuggler. (We have been working on no furniture and it is ... (Read More)coming along well) She kennels in to her cage with the command 'kennel in' and does not have any accidents in her cage. She is fairly well house broken but I always kennel her if she is home alone. Shasta is content in her cage all night without any barking. She cries to be let out when she hears us moving about in the a.m. She goes to the door when she is wanting to go out but she does not bark or paw the door so her special someone needs to be aware when she gets up and heads to the door. She goes on leash but really needs a fenced in yard to get enough exercise to keep her happy. Every where she goes is at a dead run, no walking and she loves to play with her buddies outside. Shasta is one of those dogs that has what I call a 'grin' on her face all the time and really wants to please! A sharp word and she looks remorseful. She is a bundle of energy but smart and gentle. She will make the right family a wonderful companion and friend for life! She is a truly 'good dog'. (Less)

Meet Willow, a beautiful 10-month old Ragdoll mix! Willow was pulled from the local animal shelter several months ago after she gave birth to five healthy kittens. All her kittens have been adopted and now it's her turn to find a permanent, loving home! She does well with other cats and most sizes of dogs, but does have a dominant personality so if there is another alpha female there may be some fighting at first until they figure out a hierarchy. She is a very sweet, loving cat who loves attention and wants to be near her people. She is also content to climb a cat tree and watch the birds all day. When she wants attention she will let you ...     Hi! I am Sam and the sweetest 45 pound hound dog you will ever meet. My foster mom was told about hound dogs and I have been out to prove her wrong. I love the crate, but can totally be trusted out of it. I am great at using the bathroom outdoors and I don't bolt out the door for anything. I do love to lie around, but have pep when needed. I am great on a leash. My only issue is I have to be encouraged to keep walking, but a little tug gets me going again. I am great with my foster sister, even when she tries to tell me she is in charge. I also live with 7 kids in the house (age 17 to 8 months). They love me a lot and like to give me lots of ...     Andie ~Sponsored~Reduced Fee~'s Story...Andie is a sweet old lady that was pulled from Franklin County Animal Shelter just minutes before being put to sleep. Andie loves her person/people unconditionally and would love to go to a home with a single lady that is looking for a loving companion and a protector. Andie was severely abused and neglected so she needs to go to an understanding and patient home. Before she was rescued she lived outside so she gets overwhelmed easily in busy situations. She loves consistency and a steady routine. Once she sees you as her family she is a great guard dog and will protect you with her life. On the ... (Read More)flipside Sandy loves to cuddle and get loved on as much as possible!!! She can be fearful of men (especially if they have loud voices) and most children are just too active for her to relax around. For this reason she needs to go to a kid-free home. If you are looking for a sweet and protective couch potato this is your girl! Andie is dog and cat friendly and enjoys the company of others furry friends. She would be fine - maybe even prefer - being the only pet because that would mean more attention for her and she lovesssss attention! This girl still has a lot of spunk and lots of love to give! As previously mentioned Sandy would be a great fit for a single woman looking for a loyal companion and protector. She would also do well as a farm dog where she can enjoy a calm environment and hang outside for part of the day and head inside when she is ready to chill on the couch! She loves to chew toys and to cuddle with her person. When she first came to FCHS she didn't know what toys were for... She has come a long way but will always need a special home! Andie was heartworm positive when we rescued her but was able to go on a nice long road trip to Georgia to be treated thanks to a wonderful group who sponsored her! She has overcome various other health issues and we are so happy to be able to report that she now has a clean bill of health! Sandy is spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.     Hi everyone! It's me Sage, a sweet and adorable lab/chow mix. I'm about 8 months old, 40 lbs, house and crate trained, and a professional Pok̩mon hunter! Well I could be if you are looking for someone to help find them. See I LOVE to go for walks at the park with my foster mom and we see a lot of people there hunting Pok̩mon and I just know I could help you sniff them out and keep you company! Some other things I love are people and other dogs!! I'd be fine as a spoiled only dog but I'd love to have a playmate too! I'm an energetic girl and I'd be a great walking and probably even a great running partner. The only thing I shouldn't have ... (Read More)around are cats. The ones at my foster mom house don't like me because I chase them and then if I catch them I play too rough. I also like stuffed toys (I try to beat my own time getting the squeaker out) and cow hooves to chew on and keep me occupied. But what I'd love most of all is to find my forever family. I'm sure my forever family is out there! Are your reading this now?? I'm already spayed, microchipped, and up to date with all my shots. My adoption fee is $225. (Less)

Once upon a time there was a loving and sweet, 2 year old, 45 pound, Carolina Dog mix princess named 'Pumpkin.' The king and queen of the land named her that because of her coloring and also because she was born in the month of October. She loved the people in her land and she often played with the other dogs and in her kingdom. Her favorite pastime was spending time with the king and queen and seeking their affection. She would even follow them around without a leash. My dear readers, her loving personality craved attention and she liked to sit on their thrones. Then one day, the king and queen decided they didn't want Pumpkin anymore ... (Read More)and led her out into the forest and left her. She was so very sad because all she had ever known were the king and queen of the land. She wondered around the forest starving and became a flea infested stray that nobody wanted. Pumpkin would return day after day, for a whole month, to the place where the king and queen left her- waiting for them to return. But alas, they never did. Then one day, her fairy godmother came along and rescued her. She took her home and gave her a good bath, washing all the fleas away. She also gave her medicine to sooth her savaged, flea infested skin. She also gave the princess some food and took her for shots. Fairy Godmother couldn't believe how well she walked on a leash, slept in a crate and how well she behaved in the house. Because Pumpkin was raised in a castle, she learned to royally behave. Pumpkin was so appreciative all she wanted to do was give her fairy godmother hugs and kisses Pumpkin style. You see dear reader, this princess needs to find a new kingdom to rein. If you have the heart of a queen or the courage of a king, please give this princess a kingdom to call her own again. (Less)
